Yasst is a new and easy-to-use lightweight Twitter client for your desktop.

SnapBird allows users to search old tweets, time lines, your direct messages and favorite tweets.

This application is great for finding an old tweet you want to reference, save or show another individual. You do not need to authenticate your account to use this application, but SnapBird does suggest that you do.

Currently SnapBird allows you to search, ‘Someone Timeline,’ ‘Someone’s Favorites,’ ‘Your Friends’ Tweets,’ ‘Tweets Mentioning You,’ ‘Your Sent  Direct Messages’ and ‘Your Received Direct Messages.’ Select one of these options, type the Twitter handle you want to search and enter a keyword.  SnapBird will then search the first few hundred tweets for your results.

Once your results are shown, you will see the number of tweets that pertain to your keywords and the total amount of tweets that were searched. Users can opt to search more tweets. If at any time you want to cancel your search, just hit the escape button.

Results are displayed from top to bottom. The SnapBird results shows the person’s Twitter default and when the tweet was originally posted.

It’s very hard to decipher who you have mutual friends with on Twitter. You could always scan a person’s profile, but that might take a few hours or maybe even days. OMGFriends is a useful Twitter application that makes finding mutual friends easier.

OMGFriends! is free to use and requires no registration or authentication. Anyone, even someone without a Twitter account, can use this application.

To get started, select two people that you want to analyze. Place each name in the highlighter green box at the top of the screen. From the drop-down menu, choose whether you’d like to see the mutual friends or followers between the two users. Of course you can see both, but that has to be done one-by-one.  Click on ‘Show me? kthxbai.’

Once you click on the submit button, you will be shown the mutual friends or followers between the two people. OMGFriends does give you the option to make your search results public.

The ‘Recent’ tab shows the latest searches made with OMGFriends. There is also a ‘Scoreboard’ tab that keeps track of each users’ score and a ‘Leaderboard’ tab that shows the users with the most mutual friends/followers.

OMGFriends is a great way to compare which friends you and another Twitter user have in common. It’s also also a great way to gain more friends and followers.
