The ‘140 Verses’ application writes poems for you

If you love Shakespeare or wacky little poems then the 140 Verses application.

The 140 verses application takes random sentences and statement from the internet and meshes them together to make poems. Many of the sentences are taken directly from Twitter. There is no requirement or formula for the sentences chosen.

According to, the concept from the site comes from the Infinite Monkey Theorem. The theorem implies that after an infinite amount of time, a monkey typing on a typewriter keyboard will produce a text of substance similar to that of William Shakespeare.

Individuals can create poems by clicking on an emotion and region of the world.

Users can always browse the top 10 verses on the site by clicking on the tab at the top of the page.

This application requires no registration or authentication. Just view the crazy and sometimes weird poems and that’s all there is to it.

The 140 Verses application is almost like the game Mad Libs. The application is so unique, but the zany verses keep you coming back to the site for more.
